I have to make a confession — for years plaid scared me. It never seemed like a pattern that would look nice on the body — all of those lines and colors couldn’t possibly be meant to be worn at once. However, given the trend toward menswear this season and my recent experience with the fabulous tailor DeCarlos Bespoke, I am a little more open minded. (See my post on how curvy girls wear meanswear.) These shoes from Prada are the perfect way for a shy girl like me (ha!) to dip her toe into plaid. I love these shoes because they combine so many awesome trends in one accessible item — schoolgirl plaid, menswear, fall colors and platforms. It’s a grown woman’s way to play with fashion. I approve!
